Participants in the upcoming production of The Little Mermaid<\/em> were in for a transformative experience, thanks to exclusive masterclasses led by two of Malta\u2019s most accomplished artists: Dorothy Bezzina and Edward Mifsud on July 7, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dorothy Bezzina<\/strong> is a powerhouse of musical theatre and classical performance . She brought her wealth of stage experience and vocal mastery to the sessions. Known for her spellbinding portrayals in productions like Oliver!<\/em> and The Band\u2019s Visit<\/em>, Bezzina offered our young participants deep insights into character development, vocal technique, and emotional authenticity. Her guidance was especially valuable for young performers navigating the complex emotional arcs of beloved characters like Ariel and Ursula. Edward Mifsud,<\/strong> a composer, conductor and orchestrator celebrated for his innovative work in progressive rock and classical fusion, complemented Bezzina\u2019s theatrical expertise with a focus on musical interpretation and ensemble cohesion. <\/span>During the masterclasses sessions, Mifsud helped performers understand the musical language of The Little Mermaid<\/em>, enhancing their timing, phrasing, and responsiveness to orchestration. Participants thus stood to gain one-on-one and collective mentorship from two leading figures in Malta\u2019s performing arts scene.<\/span><\/p>\n

We believe that such sessions foster confidence, discipline, and artistic growth in preparation for the live performances that will take place on August 25 and 26 at the Villa Rundle Amphitheatre at 8.00 pm.
