Highly Successful XIII Choral Tour – Palermo Region

Chorus Urbanus have just returned from a highly successful choral tour in the Palermo region during which the choir performed in two key events that marked new milestones in the choir’s rich history. This choral tour is especially significant for the fact that it took place during 2018, the year that marks Valletta (Malta) as the European Capital of Culture and Palermo as the Italian Capital of Culture. This XIII Choral Tour spanned over six days – 22 to  27 August, 2018.

Torino – 2017

Chorus Urbanus members have returned back from the choir’s highly successful 12th Choral Tour to Torino with singing engagements at St John Bosco’s Church of Maria Ausiliatrice in Valdocco, the Chapel of the Holy Shroud at the Duomo di Torino and the SS. Trinità Church in Nichelino.

Gerano, Italy – 2013

The picturesque village of Gerano in Italy, recently hosted Gozo Choir, Chorus Urbanus, which was on its 11th choral tour. The Choir had been invited to give a concert on the occasion of the official closure of the festivities in honour of La Madonna del Cuore that is venerated in Gerano. (more…)

Alsace – 2006

The beautiful region of Alsace in eastern France was the venue of the Chorus Urbanus’ 8th choral tour which spanned between 7th and 12 December 2006. The Choir was invited to participate in Les Noeilles, a major choral event in which a choir from each EU country performed two concerts in two different localities in Alsace.

Sofia – 2005

Sofia, in Bulgaria, has once again been the venue for the recording of two CDs by the Chorus Urbanus as part of its 30th Anniversary Celebrations. The Chorus Urbanus visited Sofia between 28 March 2005 and 4 April 2005 to record, together with the Sofia Collegium Symphony Orchestra the Oratorio “Il-Qalb ta’ Kristu” composed by John Galea and lyrics by H.L. Mgr Nicholas Cauchi, Bishop of Gozo. This Oratorio was premiered in June 2005 during the centenary festivities organised at the Fontana Parish. (more…)

Greece – 2003

On the occasion of the 2004 Olympic Games to be held in Athens in Summer 2004, the Hellenikon Idyllion invited the Chorus Urbanus to give concerts in Greece during the month of September 2003.
