22nd June is a special day for the local Church in Malta, particularly in Gozo, since it commemorates the Apparition of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu to Karmni Grima, a lady hailing from the nearny village of Gharb, . This year, the celebrations were extra special since the Sanctuary of Ta’ Pinu together with the Gozo Diocese are commemorating the 400th year of the miraculous painting of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu that is veneered by the local faithful and believers.

To commemorate this year’s Apparition Feast, HL Bishop Mario Grech led a Pontifical Mass at the Ta’ PInu Sanctuary on the 22nd June 2019 at 7.30pm. Chorus Urbanus was invited to animate this mass that was celebrated by a nice number of co-celebrant priests and well-attended by a packed church.

The Choir performed John Galea’s Missa in Fractione Panis together with a number of religious motets. After the mass all those present attended for a short procession aux flambaux with the image of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu.
