The premiere of John Galea’s  Missa Immaculatae Conceptionis B.M.V. et Sancti Ioseph composed specifically for the First Solemn Mass of Fr Gabriel Vella at Qala Parish Church  was given its premiere yesterday evening, one week ahead of Qala’s titular feast celebrations. It is a new work written for soloists, SATB choir and Orchestra with an eye for majestic sonorities that befit the text of the Common of the mass. The work was very well received by the members of the congregation that thronged the Qala Parish Church for this joyful occasion. A huge well done to the soloists, Patricia Borg, Angelo Muscat, Noel Galea , Chorus Urbanus and the  22-piece Orchestra. At the end of the mass, a copy of the score and parts of the Missa Immaculatae Conceptionis B.M.V. et Sancti Ioseph  was presented to the Archpriest Rev. Dr Edward Xuereb to be eventually housed at the Qala Parish Archives.

We wish ‘Ad Multos Annos’ to  Fr Gabriel Vella  and proudly exclaim ‘Tu es Sacerdos in aeternum’!
