Lent is a time of reflection, prayer, and renewal, inviting us to walk alongside Christ in His final moments. The Journey of Sorrow and Hope is not just a concert—it is a deeply spiritual experience that combines music, narration, and reflection, guiding us through the Passion of Christ in a way that speaks to the heart. This unique event featuring the Chorus Urbanus Junior Choir will take the audience through a musical pilgrimage, stopping at key moments of Christ’s suffering: the Last Supper, Gethsemane, the Flagellation, the Crowning with Thorns, the Crucifixion, and the sorrow of Mary. Each station will feature a short acted reflection (director: Jamie Camilleri), paired with sacred choral music (vocal coach: Hilda Grima), bringing to life the emotions of each scene. The audience will move from sorrow to hope, mirroring Christ’s journey from suffering to redemption.
The Journey of Sorrow and Hope is an invitation to prayer and contemplation. Four performances are set to take place at 6.30, 7.15, 8.00 and 8.45 p.m. at the Capuchins’ Cloister, Victoria. In a world often filled with pain and uncertainty, this experience offers a moment of peace and spiritual renewal. Join us on April 14, 2024, and take part in this powerful Lenten reflection.
Let music and prayer guide you in preparing your heart for the joy of Easter!
