During the 50th anniversary concert held on 17 December 2025, Chorus Urbanus continued its annual philanthropic tradition by organising a collection in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund—an initiative that reflects the ensemble’s enduring commitment to community service. The celebratory event, graciously patronised by H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, yielded €1200 in donations thanks to the heartfelt generosity of those attending the Golden Jubilee performance. In this way, the anniversary concert—already rich in musical heritage and artistic excellence—became not only a cultural milestone but also a meaningful opportunity to support individuals and families facing hardship.
Earlier this afternoon at Ghajnsielem (Betlem f’Ghajnsielem), the collected funds were formally presented to H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono during L-Istrina by Mro. Dr John Galea (Musical Director) and Mr Karl Buhagiar (President – Chorus Urbanus), underscoring the choir’s conviction that music has the power to inspire solidarity and compassion. By dedicating the proceeds of such a significant occasion to the Malta Community Chest Fund, Chorus Urbanus reaffirmed its role as both a cultural beacon and a civic contributor within the Maltese community. This donation stands as a heartfelt testament to the ensemble’s commitment to using its artistic platform for the common good, ensuring that the spirit of the Golden Jubilee continues to resonate far beyond the performance venue.
