Concert Preparations in Full Swing
Preparations for the coming Christmas Concert by Chorus Urbanus are now in full swing and the choir has now been joined by the orchestra for its rehearsals for Sunday’s performance.

The La Stella Philharmonic Society of Victoria, has today announced the appointment of Dr John Galea as its Musical Director following the demise of Prof. Joseph Vella who led the Band since 1979. Dr Galea will be the 20th musical director of La Stella Band after having served for a number of years as Assistant Musical Director of the same Band and Musical Director of the Astra Theatre.
An evening of choral music around Victoria is being organized by the Ministry for Gozo on Sunday 30th December 2018.
The Official Launching of the festivities of Christmas in Gozo was held on Saturday 1st December 2018 under the auspices of the Minister for Gozo, the Hon Dr Justyne Caruana. (more…)
Chorus Urbanus Productions have launched the official poster for the upcoming edition of the Choir’s Christmas Concert.
Chorus Urbanus has once again been invited by the Franciscan Conventual Friars in Victoria, Gozo to participate in the liturgical celebrations marking the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
Two sell-out performances of Leslie Bricusse’s musical “Scrooge!” on 3rd and 4th November 2018 at the Oratory Don Bosco unofficially opened this year’s Christmas season with a bang! After the success of last year’s “Fiddler on the Roof” much was being expected from this year’s production and the audiences were not disappointed indeed.
(more…)Christmas is coming early this year in Gozo. The evergreen english musical production of SCROOGE! by Leslie Bricusse will be staged live at the Don Bosco Oratory Theatre. The performances are being held on Saturday 3rd November at 7.30pm, Sunday 4th November at 2.30pm, Sunday 11th November at 5.30pm and Saturday 17th November at 7.30pm.

(more…)Apart from setting new milestones for the choir where musical prestige is concerned, the recent choral tour in the Palermo region saw the choir embark on a laudable eco-friendly initiative. For the concert of sacred music held in the Cathedral of Palermo, the choristers started using tablets instead of printed scores.
